Opening Substack chat, and Tuesday's live AMA
A space for community discussion—or to Ask Me Anything!
I’d like to better facilitate community around the sorts of things I write about. Maybe Substack chat is one good venue for that?
Also, Substack recently introduced a live video feature for this purpose.
I will host a live video session on this coming Tuesday, October 22nd, at 8 a.m. Pacific Time (11 a.m. Eastern). It will be an "AMA" (Ask Me Anything). The video facility supports only broadcasting, so participants won't be able to see each other, only me. (Maybe not ideal; perhaps I'll try this on Zoom next time.)
I'm opening the chat ahead of time, to collect questions for the AMA, but also as an opportunity for general discussion, if you'd like to do that! You can just jump into the discussion, and also it would be great to introduce yourself. You could say a little about your interests, or your own projects, so we all have a sense of who we are and what we’re doing.
I’ll join in the chat immediately, but will resist the temptation to answer questions until the live session :) I’ll also check the chat while we’re live, but will give priority to questions posted in the chat earlier.
You can participate in the chat either on the web or on the Substack app, but you can access the video only via the mobile app. So you may want to download that:
You’ll get an app notification when we go live, with one-click instructions for how to get in.
I hope to see you there!
