Two new pages on Meaningness, plus a major change to its “look and feel.”
Are you bored with nihilism?
“No meaning of life as a whole” is about The Meaning Of Life. That is not a thing, because “life overall” isn’t a thing. A unified plan or goal for your life is unrealistic, and trying to force one can make you “very, very sad” (as a recent philosophy paper I quote explains). Life involves many splendid things, and they don’t need to cohere.
That is the last page in the “Lite nihilism” section of Meaningness. Phew! That took much longer to write than I expected.
The other new page is “No meaning without proof,” the first in the hardcore nihilism section. It’s funny, and it’s about frogs, so I like it.
Nevertheless, I’m getting bored with nihilism. Are you bored with nihilism? I wanted to finish that whole topic before moving on, but I think it may be time to write about something else for a change.
Navigating Meaningness
In other news, readers have been complaining for a decade that it’s hard to navigate Meaningness, and why can’t it be more like a normal web site. I had excellent reasons for it not to look like a normal web site, but no one agreed. It’s my web site, so I ignored them.
Today I decided I was being stubborn and unreasonable, and spent the day putting a navigation sidebar on it.
I hate the visual clutter, but I admit it is functional. Maybe I can find a way to make it less obtrusive.
Happy
Happy 2022! 🥳
